Olivier,
Currently menu item File->Upload/Download is disabled on MacOSX. recently I did some little testing and found it working on my system. The only inconvenience is that one could not automount network location from GtkFileChooser dialog (like smb://, ftp:// etc.) and have to do this from Finder manually first. However, once network location is mounted it gets available in /Volumes directory and can be selected and used from GtkFileChooser dialog.
I think it makes sense to restore this useful feature on MacOSX. What do You think?

Perhaps we should add an extra message for osx users? to explain they
have to open a location in the finder first?

Olivier

(extra message breaks string freeze, so we'll have to postpone until
2.2.5 is released)

I think the message would be usefull, indeed.
With ftp mounting there is also issue that needs to be mentioned: one can download files, but not upload them. It is design by Apple :-)
