expected behavior

Hi all,

I added more options to the simple search, so you can now also in simple
search use a regex pattern, or use backslash escape characters.

I was wondering if these options should be kept 'in sync' with the
options used in the advanced search and replace dialog.

Suppose the last time you used the advanced search and replace dialog
was with a regular expression search. Now you open the simple search,
should it have the regex option enabled?

And suppose you do a search without regex in the simplesearch, and then
open the advanced dialog, should it also have the regex disabled now?

please let me know your opinion.

Olivier

The "simple" search you're talking about is the Ctrl+F "inline" find
thing, right? And advanced is for when the dialog pops up?

I think keeping them separate makes sense. At least for me, I use the
Ctrl+F find quite differently to the advanced find and I think I'd
find it confusing if it switched to regex searching just because I did
a "find in files" with regex. Especially since there's no real
indication on the UI that it's using regex (i.e. you have to click the
down arrow to find out).

That's just my 2c.

Dean.
